Refund policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026. This policy covers paid Virginia Data Center Watch founding plans (Neighbor, Community Group, Pro and Lead Intel) bought online.

• Cancel any time in the customer portal (sign in with the email you used at checkout), or email [email protected] and we'll cancel for you. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Free trial: every paid plan bought online starts with a 30-day free trial. Nothing is charged during the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you won't be charged at all. Otherwise the first payment is taken when the trial ends, and the rules below apply from then on. Switching plans during a trial may end the trial and start paid billing right away.
• Founding status: paid features are being built and start in stages. If a feature you bought for is not yet available when your trial ends, tell us and we will cancel without charge or refund that payment.
• Founder code: the VAFOUNDER promotion code gives 50% off for 12 months on Virginia plans, for the first 100 redemptions. Refunds are for the amount actually paid.
• Monthly plans are not refunded, including partial months. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
• Annual plans: if you ask within 14 days of an annual charge (your first payment or a yearly renewal), we refund the unused part of the year, prorated by day. Email [email protected] from the address on the subscription. After 14 days, an annual plan runs to the end of its year and isn't refunded.
• Switching plans in the portal: upgrades take effect right away and you're charged the prorated difference. Downgrades and switches from annual to monthly take effect at the end of the current paid period.
• Our mistakes: billing errors, duplicate charges, or coverage we promised but couldn't deliver are refunded or credited, whatever the plan.
• Refunds go back to the original payment method through our payment processor, Stripe, and usually show up within 5-10 business days. Any tax charged on a refunded amount is refunded too.
• This policy doesn't limit any rights you have under applicable law.
